The C‐One was a tug purchased by the Miami-Dade Department of Environmental Resources Management for use as an artificial reef.

The aged tug was stripped of her engine and fittings in late 1990 and then towed from Jacksonville to Miami by the tug Captain Donald in preparation of her scuttling. On November 3, 1990, while approximately five miles southeast of Fort Pierce Inlet, the 60‐foot long Captain Donald began taking on water, which flooded into her engine room. The three crew members were forced to abandon ship as the Captain Donald quickly sank underneath them. The still-floating C‐One was eventually towed to Miami following the ironic event.

The C-One was finally dispatched on November 8, 1990. She was sunk in 68 feet of water off Haulover Inlet in the vicinity of several other artificial reefs.

The C‐One is straddled by the tug Lady Carmen, resting just to the west, and the 38-foot long tug White Coast, found just to the east. The two sections of the 155-foot long freighter Conception are found less than 200 feet to the north of the C‐One. In addition, a 90-foot long barge and numerous concrete modules lie a short distance to the southeast.
